Where it all began

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when (or even why) we decided to buy a house in France.

It was an idea that grew out of a desire for a fresh and exciting new life for us at a time when we had nothing and no-one holding us back. Our love was new, our outlook optimistic, and possibilities seemed endless.

We fell in love with a little stone townhouse we found on the internet, and after we paid our deposit, the dream started to become a reality, and, keen to see the house in the flesh before signing the final paperwork, we lashed out on a great deal to London…

from where we took the Eurostar under the channel and became engaged while cruising the Seine with the glittering Eiffel Tower in our sights.

Glittering Eiffel

We loved London, but ah Paris!

And then came the long-awaited 3 hour drive down to Argenton-sur-Creuse to see our house and some of the local sights for the first time.

France was everything we had imagined and more. Okay, so the house needed work – perhaps a little more than we had hoped – but for the price, fantastic, and “location, location, location” as they say!

And so began our French adventure.
