Here comes the sun

The wet weather has finally broken here in Argenton sur Creuse. I guess it is spring and rain is to be expected, but we had never seen the river Creuse gushing quite this before.

You could hardly see the causeway (probably not the right word… but the ridge that runs between the two old mills).

So at the sight of the sun we were inspired to go on a good long walk up through the Les Jardins de la Grenouille (Frog Garden!)

Next to the swimming pool complex we noticed a new mini golf course in an appropriate medieval theme.

And further along is the brand new flashy sporting complex (see, not everything in Argenton is ancient).

But it turned out to be an even longer walk than we had intended when the road we took went on and on with no turn offs at all.

We were almost ready to turn around and go back the way we came when we reached the end of the road in neighboring Le Pechereau.

We regained our bearings and headed for home.

Finally arriving at a road we were familiar with – though still a good 20 minutes from home.

Then back across the Creuse, now subsiding, but still flowing vigorously.

Yes, it was a very good walk, and a perfect start to a glorious day.

Just to top it off, warm bread from our local patisserie for a lovely lunch.

La vie est belle.
