From drab to fab

We now have a welcoming front door, freshly painted, with new numbers and repainted knocker and letter flap, together with a gorgeous little “Pas de Publicité” sign we picked up on our travels down south.

And the guest bedroom looks great. Best of all (at this stage of the trip, after 3 months of no income) we completed it with what we already had on hand, not one extra centime outlaid.

We also managed to fix a drainage problem that we have had in the shower room downstairs ever since we paid someone to install the shower unit (thinking it was beyond us – now we would just do it ourselves, for less cost and better result!) Pity we don’t have time to do anything more to that room right now. It will have to wait till next trip, along with the small 2nd bedroom, the hall and stairwell.

We will just have to content ourselves in completing our tidying up (especially the garage which somehow ended up looking like a cyclone had hit) before our guests arrive on Tuesday. Then we can all sit back, relax and enjoy.
