Getting there

We have worked very hard this past couple of weeks to get the bedroom downstairs finished before my son and his girlfriend arrive next week – eek! Very good incentive, and I’m glad to say we’re almost there.

After sanding and then painting, and painting, and painting…

(painting the inbuilt cupboard took almost as long to paint as the whole room! I also re-tiled the base with leftover tiles from our kitchen upstairs, and then couldn’t wait to fill it up!)

We lifted up the old vinyl… (which we are re-using in the garage as a temporary fix until we can concrete the dirt floor)

and exposed the gorgeous oak floorboards, then after a bit of cleaning up we’re now ready to move the furniture back in.

If that wasn’t enough, we also made a start on the outside…

The front door (we found it had a false bottom which we removed and repaired the spilt it was hiding before re-painting)

And brightened up some of the railing and shutters… wonder if there will be enough time to do the rest of them?

Phew, no wonder we’re tired!
